Welcome to Pack 3136!

Pack 3136 is open to boys in grades K–5 in the Lenexa, KS area. We’re part of the Kaw District in the Heart of America Council and are proudly sponsored by the Sunflower Elementary PTA. Our Dens and Pack meet on Thursday evenings at Sunflower Elementary.

We’re here to help boys grow into responsible, kind, and confident young people by living the values of the Scout Oath and Law—all while having fun, building friendships, and being part of a great community.

Have a question? Use the “Contact Us” link in the menu, and we’ll be happy to help!

April is for Building (and a Little Adventure Too)

Posted on Mar 29 2026 - 9:05pm

April is all about getting outside, building, and giving back. We’ve got a great mix of den time and hands-on pack projects. Here’s what’s ahead:

Schedule at a Glance

Check Den communication for Den meeting details.

Den Meetings - April 9
Den Meetings - April 23
Pack Meeting - April 30 (Lenexa Hills)

April 30 Pack Meeting: Conservation Night

We’re shifting our Pack meeting to April 30, and we'll be at Lenexa Hills.

This meeting will focus on conservation projects, with Scouts building items that directly support local wildlife:

  • Webelos & Bears: Build Bat Boxes to support natural pest control and local ecosystems
  • Lions, Tigers & Wolves: Create Bug Hotels to support pollinators

This will be a hands-on, fun night where Scouts can learn more about the environment around them.

Looking Ahead: May Events

Rank Up Ceremony - May 14

Shawnee Mission Park - Shelter #2

As your Scout prepares to move to the next rank, please plan to bring the neckerchief for their new rank (for example, a current Lion will need a Tiger neckerchief).

You may also choose to purchase the matching slide, but a standard Scout slide works just fine.

During the ceremony, Scouts will cross a bridge to symbolize their advancement, and we’ll present them with their new neckerchief—a meaningful way to celebrate their growth in Cub Scouting.

We’ll wrap up the evening with S’mores to celebrate a great year!

Spring Family Campout - May 16-17

Hollis Retreat Center (near Edwardsville)

We’re excited for our Spring Campout! More details and registration info will be shared soon, but for now, please save the date.

This campout will include plenty of unstructured exploration time, which is exactly what our Scouts need.

Road Safety Rodeo - This Thursday!

Posted on Mar 22 2026 - 10:32pm

Hi Pack 3136 Families,

With spring rolling in and kids spending more time outside, we want to help our Scouts build strong, safe riding habits. This Thursday, we’re excited to host our Road Safety Rodeo!

Scouts will rotate through hands-on activities to learn:

  • Basic bike mechanics

  • Road and helmet safety

  • How to plan safe routes in their neighborhoods

This event also supports the Bike Adventure requirements at every rank, and it’s designed so every Scout can jump in and feel successful, no matter their riding level.

What to Bring

  • A bike or scooter
  • A helmet (required)
  • Nothing electric

Scooters are absolutely welcome if that helps your Scout feel comfortable.

We're looking forward to a fun, active night together!

Road Safety Rodeo - Volunteers Needed

Posted on Mar 15 2026 - 10:56pm

Our March Pack Meeting on March 26 will be a Road Safety Rodeo. It's going to be a fun, hands-on evening where Scouts learn how to ride safely and confidently.

Scouts will rotate through three activity stations, spending about 8 minutes at each station. Each station includes a short explanation followed by hands-on exploration. We are looking for six parent volunteers to help run stations and keep things moving smoothly.

Volunteer descriptions are below. If you’re able to help, please sign up. Thank you for helping make this a fun and safe event for our Scouts!

March Adventures Are Rolling In

Posted on Mar 8 2026 - 9:50pm

March will be a lighter month for meetings, but it will still be full of hands-on learning and fun. Here’s what’s ahead:

Schedule at a Glance

  • Den Meetings - March 12
  • Pack Meeting - March 26

March 26 Pack Meeting: Road Safety Rodeo

Our main event this month will be a Road Safety Rodeo. Scouts will rotate through stations to learn:

  • Basic bike mechanics, such as saddle height, brakes, tire pressure, and bike types
  • Road and helmet safety
  • How to plan safe routes in their neighborhoods

These activities align directly with the Bike Adventure requirements at every rank, so this meeting will help Scouts make progress toward completing that Elective adventure.

We are intentionally not calling it a “Bike Rodeo” because we want every Scout to feel comfortable participating, regardless of skill or experience level.

What to Bring

  • A bike or scooter
  • A helmet, which is required
  • Nothing electric

If a scooter helps your Scout feel more confident participating, that is perfectly fine. The goal is to learn and build confidence.

More details will be shared as we get closer. For now, please mark your calendars for March 12 and March 26.

Spring is coming.....and we're ready to roll!

From Cake Contest to Leadership: Help Us Keep the Pack Strong

Posted on Feb 22 2026 - 3:26pm

Wow. What a night.

Our Blue & Gold Banquet was everything we hope Scouting can be — loud, joyful, meaningful, and a little bit sugar-fueled. The cake contest was next-level creative this year, and the Arrow of Light crossover ceremony was a powerful reminder of why we do this.

None of that happens by accident.

It happens because parents show up.
It happens because volunteers step forward.
It happens because this Pack is full of people willing to give a little extra.

So first, THANK YOU! To our den leaders, committee members, event planners, cake judges, setup crews, cleanup crews, and behind-the-scenes helpers — you made our B&G special.

And now, we are asking for someone to step into a core pack position:

Treasurer-in-Training

Janice has done an incredible job keeping our Pack finances organized, transparent, and healthy. We are looking for a parent who would be willing to:

  • Learn alongside Janice this spring

  • Understand how Pack budgeting and reimbursements work

  • Step into the Treasurer role next fall

This is not a “figure it out alone” position. It’s a supported transition with mentorship built in. If you appreciate organization and spreadsheets, this is a great way to contribute in a big way!

Blue & Gold Cake Decorating Contest

Our Blue & Gold Banquet is coming up soon, and we’ll once again be hosting our Cake Decorating Contest. This will be a fun way for Scouts and families to celebrate our AOL Scouts crossing over to BSA as well as Scouting’s 116th birthday together.

More details about cake guidelines and award categories can be found in last week's E-blast or on our Pack website homepage.

Scout Day at the K - Sunday, April 12

Michelle Gailliez-Frye will be coordinating ticket purchases for our Pack. Please be ready to submit payment by the deadline if your family plans to attend. Venmo anytime (@mmgailliez) or pay cash the night of B&G.
